Where Do We Source Our Products?

As a conscious crystals business owner and lover, I always ensure that all our crystals are ethically sourced and I'm here to tell you why I care about the sourcing process and why you should only purchase from businesses that source their products responsibly.

Not long after fallen down the rabbit hole of collecting crystals, I have discovered the dark side of crystals mining. I believe that many of you have watched the movie "Blood Diamond" if not it is a movie based on real-life situations in the diamond mining industry. Yes, I know, crystals are not as expensive but still, the mining process and environment could be as terrific due to their high market demand, the mining and distribution of crystals are also linked to many conflict and violence.

Most crystals are largely mined from third world countries, where their labor laws and environmental regulations are poorly regulated. Often, the conditions are unprotected for workers, with little safety equipment, and low wages. Whereas the crystals industry, they are earning large profits from the exploitation of these vulnerable miners, I do not want to take part in any of these and am highly disgusted.

Therefore, in our business, we only purchase from trusted wholesalers, factories, suppliers that source their crystals ethically. By ethically, it means that they ensure that workers are highly protected and fairly traded ( miners are paid a fair price for their hard work), also following the environmental regulation (no harsh chemical used during the mining process).

We are willing to be transparent regarding where we source our products. For our crystals, we source around 70% from the origins (mainly from Brazil and Madagascar), 30% from other overseas wholesalers (from the US & Europe). The main reasons that we source from other oversea wholesalers other than from their origins are due to the high minimum orders for some stones, as a small business, we cannot afford to purchase 25kg of crystals at once. Another reason is that we love ourselves some professionally carved stones, where we usually source our carved stones from our US wholesalers. Even though we purchase from other wholesalers, we still ensure that they source their products responsibly.
